For the sake of collectors, and for the maintaining of value, the United States Mint creates sets of coins every single printing which are to be sold off purely as uncirculated gold coins. Of course they do the same for all of their coins which means that one can go to their website and purchase a roll of any of the currently printed coins in uncirculated rolls or single sleeves. There are many different locations specializing in selling gold that also provide mint condition gold coins that have never entered general circulation.

It is important to point out the differences between a proof set and an uncirculated set of coins as there seems to be some misunderstanding about them. The proof sets are specifically minted with special qualities or extra work done to them before being sold off. In some cases an artist may hand paint the coins to make them look better, but to the true coin collector, it is the uncirculated coins which look the best.

The value of any coin is increased when it is in better condition and nothing is better then an uncirculated coin. Just because gold coins are already very valuable for the fact that they are composed of a precious metal, does not mean they are not worth more in mint condition. For the investor though, purchasing uncirculated gold coins means that you are going to get the best price for your money. In many cases the value of the coin being sold directly from the mint is based on the value of gold at the time of printing and not the current spot price. For an investor this is crucial especially when the value of gold is much higher then it was at the time of minting.

Is it gold? Of course it is, but you have to remember that gold is a mineral and does not come in the form of flakes. It is a very heavy metal as well which means that it will not simply float in a suspension liquid. These vials that you have been collecting are nothing more then gold leaf.

Gold has some amazing properties and one of them is the ability to be pounded thinner then a piece of paper. You can actually buy gold leaf anywhere and a large book of it does not really cost much at all, because it does not weight a lot.

There is only really two ways that gold will exist. The first of these is in rock form which can be either as a gold nugget or as gold dust. The second is in cast form which is what occurs to the metal after it has been refined. It may be cast into a coin or as a bar; but it may also be extruded as a wire to make necklaces and the like. The only time it comes in a flake form is when someone takes good old fashioned gold leaf, crumbles up a couple of pieces and suspends it in an oil.

If you have a lot of it; perhaps thousands of these vials, then you might actually have enough old that you can trade. But chances are that you would really need hundreds of thousands of these vials in order to get a full troy ounce of gold. It is possible to trade gold flakes, but it is not all that easy because the metal needs to be cleaned after being suspended in oil and then needs to be carefully melted back into a cast form in order to be traded.

There are many such investments which are available today and when you invest in a mining company, you can make some substantial profits in a short time. Whether you are satisfied with purchasing certificates on the open market or even if you like the idea of investing in the mining companies directly, making money through gold investments is definitely a good strategy.

While this original coin may no longer be made, its successor is known as the Soviet chervonetz and is still widely available. The chervonetz was introduced in 1923 under the rule of the Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic. The previously mentioned coin was introduced by Tsar Nicholas II back in 1898 and up until he and his family were brutally murdered more then a year after stepping down as ruler of Russia.
